Strategic litigation is the deliberate selection of cases whose outcome extends beyond the parties involved. Each lawsuit is chosen for its potential to set a precedent, expose a systemic practice, or force the revision of a legal standard.

How we select a case

A case enters our portfolio when it meets three conditions: the challenged practice is structural rather than isolated; there is a legal basis to support the argument; and a favorable ruling changes the behavior of an entire sector, not just a single actor.

Who we litigate against

Large corporations and public agencies. Suing entities with a robust legal structure is expensive and time-consuming, which is precisely why few organizations do so—leaving these practices rarely challenged.

What this requires

Independent technical expertise, in-depth legal research, and the capacity to sustain a lawsuit for years. It is the organization's most costly line of work and the one with the greatest multiplier effect.
