Legislative Advocacy
Not all protection is won in court. A significant portion is decided beforehand, while a rule is being drafted — and it is at this stage that the absence of technical adversarial debate is usually most costly.
Where we act
We monitor bills at municipal, state, and federal levels, produce technical opinions, and participate in public hearings. We also act against regulations that roll back previously secured protections.
Why this front matters
A poorly drafted municipal law can reauthorize in a single year a practice banned for sixteen. Reversing it later requires judicial proceedings, time, and money — whereas preventing its passage requires technical presence at the right moment.
